There I was, minding my own business, when out from my beloved office bushes lurched the social media manager screaming, "More content! We need more content!" They grabbed me by the shoulders and shook and shook until an old idea popped out: product reviews. "No!" They cried, "We've pitched that before." Our company had a sumptuous cornucopia of written reviews on its website, but the CEO wanted them to remain anonymous. Having the writers get on camera and perform their reviews, while an easy way to create more content, was off the table. Later, after mulling the idea over and recovering from the unprovoked physical attack, I had another idea: BevBOT. What if I built a "robot" that would read the reviews for social media? We could pretend it was an artificial intelligence specializing in beverage reviews. I would take the text from the website, edit it down, add a joke or two, and then put it through a text-to-speech generator. The writers would remain anonymous and we could create video content from the reviews. BevBOT would be the voice of BevNET, "personified."
